Lake Country Classic Flat 5.5" Black Pad

Lake Country 5.5" Pads are manufactured using ultra high quality European foams, and have been specifically designed for compounding, polishing and finishing all forms of modern paint systems. The firm pre-polymer compounding foam used for the light cut pad is non-reticulated, and thus offers a high degree of mechanical cut, while the remaining pads all utilise softer thermally reticulated foams with an open cell structure, which allows air to circulate through the pads and thus reduce heat build-up caused by friction. They also feature two additional design innovations. Firstly, they incorporate a layer of instant rebound foam sandwiched between the pad and the backing plate, which absorbs off-axis movements and ensures that uniform pressure is applied to the surface being polished. Secondly, they feature a curved outer edge, which allows easy transitions over seams and swage lines. Whether you are a relative novice or a seasoned detailer, these pads will yield consistently excellent results. Equally suitable for use with both rotary and dual action machine polishers, all of the Lake Country 5.5" Pads feature a durable hook and loop fastening material that enables quick and easy pad changes. Four different grades of pad are currently available in the range.

Black - glazing pad

This pad has no cutting or cleaning action and is used for applying glazes and enhancing surface gloss prior to adding wax or sealant protection.
